Nina Laybourne
2007 AMF Scholarship Recipient

Nina Laybourne has lived most of her life without her mother who lost her battle with cancer when Nina was a young girl. Nina graduated from Sycamore High School in 2007 where she earned a 3.5 G.PA and was involved in athletics and numerous school clubs. Nina was very active in her community by volunteering her time for two years at the Blue Ash Health and Wellness Center, three years at St. Rita’s School for the Deaf, and four years at the Good Shepard Church nursery. Nina shows great interest in sign language and working with the hearing impaired.

Nina is now a sophomore at Mount St. Joseph where she majors in graphic design. Nina has managed to keep very busy this semester while balancing out 18 credit hours. She has maintained a cumulative GPA of 4.0, and is also a part of the Mount St. Joe Dance team. She attends practice twice a week for two or three hours. She keeps busy with various campus organizations; Graphics Club and Photo Club. She is also a member of the service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega. She is currently working on a project with a fellow member in efforts to raise food for those who are not able to have it for the holidays. In addition to all of her on-campus activities, Nina currently works at the Kenwood Picture People in Kenwood Mal where she is training to become a photographer. She would like to thank AMF for giving her this opportunity to share her college experiences with all!
