Following our Service Challenge project overview for the month of December, today we will be covering Seton High School’s Service Challenge Project “Share the Sisterhood” which took place last Monday, December 5th.

The student body of Seton High School spent a full day in contributing acts of service to their school and community in order to create a stronger bond and create memories together as well as impact their community. The students were inspired to give back to their communities and planned with their mentor groups what projects they wanted to partake in and what causes and organizations they wanted to be involved with.

After a prayer meeting and breakfast to start the day, Clare Blankenmeyer from the Mayerson Foundation spoke to the students about her experiences in impacting others through service as well as gave them advice on how to be in service every day.

Following Clare’s speech, the students broke off into their mentor groups and went to various locations around their school and community. Activities that took place in their building included:

  • Writing Christmas cards for children at St. Nick’s
  • Making Christmas cards and care packages to send to troops
  • Wrapping presents for Adopt a Class
  • Making blankets for the homeless and babies in NICU
  • Making goodie bags for patients at Good Samaritan Hospital
  • Knitting hats for Kai’s Love Hats
  • Cleaning around their school, and other activities.

Activities off of their school campus included tutoring and reading to children at various elementary schools, volunteering at Pregnancy Center West, Kenzie’s Closet, Wesley Community Services, Bethany House, and other activities.


Last Friday, December 9th, Edgewood High School had their Service Challenge Project to throw a Christmas party for students with mental disabilities in their district.
