Take a look at what is happening with our Service Challenge! With Thanksgiving right around the corner, schools are gearing up to lend a hand in their community, looking to give back to those in need during the holiday season.

St. Henry High School

St. Henry will complete their “Elves on a Mission” project in December, which invites those in the community to donate gifts and other items through their version of the “giving tree.”

Community Christian Academy

Students will be taking part in a “12 Days of Giving”, that will collect toys and gifts for children at the DCCH Center, a local foster agency.

With all these projects to look forward to, it is also important to look back at some of the projects this month, giving thanks to the impact they have made.

Midd State

Midd State chose to participate in a project that will continue into the new year. Students in the past have served meals once a month for the Hope House, a non-profit in Middletown that serves homeless men, women, and children daily. Students at Midd State saw a need for a healthy, nutritious, and delicious meal, so they took initiative to make even more of an impact. Once a month, 15 students plan, prep, and serve the meals at the Hope House.  This month, they served a Thanksgiving casserole, which was a recipe on loan from a Midd State student’s family. Thank you again to Midd State for all your hard work and we look forward to seeing what meal you provide next for the Hope House!

Kettering Fairmont High School

Some schools, such as Kettering Fairmont, are interested in uniting their student body and making an impact throughout their halls. They held a “Human Kindness Seminar” that focused on how each student can make a difference in the world. With over 320 students in attendance, Nick Jackson, owner of Speak Love, began the seminar telling the audience, “My goal is for you to stand for something, in unison.” Students then participated in numerous breakout sessions, which included discussions on internal emotional awareness and how to manage stress. Anthony Muñoz also stopped in to thank the students for all their hard work with their Service Challenge!

Thank you to all the schools participating in the 2017-2018 Service Challenge! We are so thankful here at Anthony Muñoz Foundation for the time you have given to support your community and beyond through service. And remember, schools are still welcome to submit a project proposal! If interested, contact impact@munozfoundation.org. To follow other #AMFChallenge projects, check out our Facebook.
